Tetiaroa, December 24, 2010 – On Christmas Eve, a green sea turtle chose a most unusual location to lay its eggs. The tracks were noticed the next day leading directly to a sandy area underneath one of the worker basecamp’s cafeteria tables, situated about 50 meters from the shore. Specialists were immediately called and the entire zone was cordoned off. Hatching will of course be carefully observed and is expected for late February. Stay tuned…
